Our Company
We conduct research on the development and monitoring of fungicide resistance in plantpathogenic fungi. Our goal is to identify new resistance mechanisms at an early stage, support sustainable plant protection strategies, and contribute to securing agricultural production. 
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated Junior Scientist (m/f/d) – Biofungicides and Fungicide Resistance Development who has a strong interest in microbiological, biological, and applied agricultural research. 
Summary/Objective

Primary Responsibilities
  • Planning, execution, and evaluation of experiments on the efficacy of biofungicides 
  • Participation in research projects focused on the development and characterization of fungicide resistance 
  • Performing microbiological laboratory work, including cultivation of phytopathogenic fungi, sporulation, and resistance testing
  • Conducting in‑vitro bioassays (e.g., mycelial growth inhibition, EC₅₀ determination, microplate assays)
  • Conducting and supporting in‑vivo bioassays (e.g., leaf segment assays, sensitivity tests, EC₅₀ analyses)
  • Development and optimization of test systems for biological active substances 
  • Preparation and execution of molecular analyses (PCR-based resistance diagnostics, DNA extraction) 
  • Statistical evaluation of experimental data and preparation of scientific documentation 
  • Contribution to publications, presentations, and project reports
Required skills and qualifications
  • Completed degree (B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in Biology, Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Plant Sciences, or a related field
  • Initial laboratory experience in microbiological or molecular biology environments
  • Advantageous: knowledge in mycology, plant protection, or biofungicides
  • Careful and structured working style, strong team orientation, and high willingness to learn
  • Basic statistical knowledge (e.g., R, Python, Excel or similar programs) is a plus 
  • Enjoyment of practice-oriented research and experimental work
